Ode to my bike...

Something about freezing cold winter mornings makes me yearn for 2 wheels. Leaving the warmth of my garage
and heading off onto dark ribbons of tarmac, losing all feeling in my fingers,eyes burning from the sting of the frigid air. Shivering hard enough to give the bike a mild case of head shake! Somehow, it's all worth it for those few,fleeting moments when you feel like you're flying!
But slowly, as the feeling returns to my extremities, and the fuel gauge indicates that the bike is thirsty, the thoughts of a warm kitchen and hot breakfast forces me to turn around and head back home. Adrenaline dissipated, bike under cover, life returns to it's more sedate pace.

You are missed, Hornet.
